WHAT WE BELIEVE
Our beliefs guide and inspire our mission. Here’s what we believe as a church.
We believe in the one true God who lives eternally in three persons—the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
We believe in the divine inspiration and supreme authority of the Old and New Testament Scriptures, which are the written Word of God—fully trustworthy for faith and conduct.
We believe that all people male and female are created in God's image and have been morally corrupted by sin.
We believe in the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross, dying in our place, paying the price of sin and defeating evil, so reconciling us with God.
We believe in the bodily resurrection of Christ, his ascension to the Father, and his reign and mediation as the only Saviour of the world.
We believe in the ministry of God the Holy Spirit, who leads us to repentance, unites us with Christ through new birth, empowers our discipleship, and enables our witness.
We believe that it is necessary to repent from sin to and continue in faith in Christ to be saved, that salvation is by faith apart from works, and that genuine faith will produce obedience and good works in a person's life.
We believe that the Old Covenant with its laws, promises, punishments and priesthood has been fulfilled and superseded by Jesus Christ, who has mediated a New Covenant and that the church is not under the laws given to Israel through Moses but to live by the commands given to all through Jesus Christ.
We believe in the Church, the body of Christ both local and universal, the priesthood of all believers—given life by the Spirit and endowed with the Spirit's gifts to worship God, proclaim the Gospel and promote justice and love.
We believe in the personal and visible return of Jesus Christ to fulfil the purposes of God, who will raise all people to judgement, bring eternal life to the redeemed and eternal punishment to the lost, and establish a new heaven and new earth.
